REPORTING BACK: I am grateful for each one of you. Thank you for your support.
I was in court and my number came at about 11:00. I began my introduction when the Judge said, "So you are the correspondent?" I told him, “Yes, but not approved for the last three years.” Then he asked the government counsel if he had given his counter. He said, “No.” So the judge issued a 3-week continuance and he was ready to move on to the next case.
The case is still at the admission stage. I realized it was a now or never kind of situation and the judge needed to know the reason for my urgency. I told the judge that I had a prayer for urgent relief on behalf of the children who had been denied their midday meals and books, stationery, and uniforms. At the same time, I informed him that our schools were government aided schools with 22 aided posts.
The judge asked the government pleader, “What about the government schemes?” and the Government Pleader said he will have to get instructions from his client. I insisted to the judge that there can be no education without books and the judge raised his hand to indicate OK and dictated his decision to the clerk. He then asked me to serve the notice to the 8th respondent, our management.
Well, it was not exactly what we had hoped for but that is how it works. I learned a lot this morning and I know how to prepare and what I need to do the next time I am before the Judge.
Please continue to think of us. The battle has just begun.
My immediate concern is to find funds to get the course books and stationery for the 30 kids in the elementary school and provide them with midday meals until the court gives us relief. I had hoped that by now, the Judge's notes on the case would be posted online, but that has not happened. So, I will post the same later along with the actual next date.
I am so tired that my body refuses to sleep. In these last seven days, I have literally slept for a total of 29 hours. Keep thinking of us.
Much love and thanks.
